Between two sizes, size up.
Linen does not give and it does not loosen with wear. It gets softer, not bigger. The larger size is the safe one.

Half waist is measured flat and relaxed. The waistband gives, so most people take their usual size. Between two, size up and let the drawstring take in the rest. Women's linen shorts come in S, M and L: take your usual size.
How to measure
Shoulder. Lay a shirt you own flat, buttoned. Measure seam to seam across the back.
Chest. Straight across, just under the arms. Double the number to compare with the chart.
Length. From the top of the shoulder by the collar, straight down to the hem.
Match. Find the size closest to your shirt on chest and shoulder. If you land between two, take the larger.
Measuring a shirt you already like beats measuring your body. It tells us how much room you actually want.
When it arrives
The ten second check
Try it on before you wash it, buttoned, in front of a mirror.
Shoulders. The seam sits on the edge of your shoulder, not up on the muscle.
Arms up. Raise both arms. The hem stays close to your belt.
Chest. You can pinch about an inch of fabric on each side.
Tight on any of the three? Go up one size.

Questions
What size should I buy if I'm between two?
Size up. The cut is close through the shoulder and armhole, and linen has no stretch.
Are Positano and Ischia sized the same?
No. They are two different cuts with two different charts. Use the chart for the shirt you are buying.
Will the linen loosen up with wear?
No. It softens with every wash, but it keeps its measurements. Buy the size that fits the shoulders today.
Will it shrink?
No. Every shirt is washed and pressed before it is packed. Wash cold and hang dry.
